Which is better? READ out. I bought both the Escort and Beltronics GX65 9500ix long for a week, on the dashboard, to the real world. Both are sold by the same company and they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. I figured what the heck. . . . . I will try them out side by side. These units were both mounted on the same level on the window of my truck.

I read all the reviews I could get my hands on and narrowed it to these two radar detectors. The Escort 9500ix and Beltronics GX65 models are touted as the most sensitive window mounted units are available with the new “GPS” advantage.

DISPLAY Both devices have the ability to dim, medium, light , dark and automatic mode. The Escort 9500ix has blue lights. The background for this device is black, but light blue on the whole numbers, up to a point on the tilt of the display a little. At night it is easier to read. The Beltronics GX65 has red lights with a pure black background. The GX65 is crystal clear display, day or night. Advantage Beltronics GX65. Meaning – Moderate.

POWER CORD-sitting behind the wheel, the Escort 9500ix cable plug in on the left side of the detector unit. The Beltronics GX65 cable connector on the right. Depending on the setting up vehicle, in particular the location of your POWER SUPPLY, this could make a big difference. Both detectors have a dark display mode where the screen goes completely black (for night use, so that other drivers can not see your detector). When using dark mode, the only thing that lights up the end of the power cord where it plugs into the power. The device does still sound, but only you can see the light at the power supply. Very ingenious idea! Advantage neither. It depends on the location you supply. Meaning – Moderate

SIZE and buttons – Both units at almost the same size, but I personally prefer the shape and arrangement of the buttons of the Beltronics GX65. Meaning – Low Mount

window – Both the GX65 9500ix and use exactly the same window mounts. For a $ 500 dollar radar detector, I feel that the mounts are very kitschy. My old mount superior to my $ 79 Whistler was to install this window. Both units tap the window while driving. This is due to the construction of the bracket. The parent company in order to improve this Window Mount, in my opinion. Meaning – Moderate

GPS “lockout” feature – Both devices have the ability to “lock out” wrong signal. If you know, the detector sensing a false signal, all you have to do is tap a button three times, and it will permanently lock out the wrong message. This is an absolutely fantastic feature. Both detectors have the ability to warn you of red light cameras, cameras and speed traps. This is a beautiful development. You can manually set the detector to warn you about all known speed cameras in your region. Nice feature! The only negative is the GPS, if you to lower the Interstate and drive through an intersection with a traffic light camera. The detector will sound, even if you do not go through the light. This is the only negative I’ve found on the GPS system. Importance – very high

AUTOLEARN – This feature is only on the 9500ix. Take a wrong signal three times and the 9500ix the signal is automatically blocked permanently. For every active person (most people who buy a radar detector!), This function is not so important. The moment when I drive by a false signal, I lock it immediately. Why should I wait to drive it three times? It takes only three taps of a button. On the other hand, for someone that is provided electronically in question, this feature can be a life saver. This feature, in theory, to go after a few weeks, you should be able to drive around your house, never touching the detector and all the false signals are blocked. Therefore, no more false alarms, police are warning! Advantage: Escort 9500ix. Meaning – Moderate

SENSITIVITY – This area is the most important of all. The reviews and tests I’ve read online showed the 9500ix as something more sensitive to Ka, and K-band laser is only a few hundred meters, but could the difference between a ticket or not.
;
These results are not scientific, but in every situation I encountered, lifted the 9500ix to true police radar for a second to a few seconds faster the the GX65. This is actually the main reason I decided to keep the Escort Passport 9500ix. In my opinion (and the scientific results to prove it), the sensitivity of the 9500ix is superior GX65. Advantage: Escort Passport 9500ix.
/> The winners, and better detector where it is most important. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the ESCORT PASSPORT 9500ix. I shipped the Beltronics GX65 back for a full refund.

I recently bought a Passport 9500ix and can honestly say it is by far the best I’ve ever heard detector. Owner of several other brands such as Cobra, Whistler and V1, this is light years ahead.

From the moment I got into my car (that was super mount easily with her) I knew this was different. I went to get it on the glass and took it even without looking at the manual. As I started to drive, I was alerted several door openers that I see my other detectors do not even know what I am informed that it was much more sensitive. On my way back home, the same way, I was alerted again to the same door. At this point I began to remember why I quit with a detector drive many years ago. . . . False alarm! Now that I had a sensitive detector, I was asked if I could stand to hear all this noise everyday.

The next day I went to work (almost the same route as picking up my kids) and I was pleasantly surprised when I passed this same spot again. The 9500ix beeped once shown, and the word “saved”. Not reading the manual, I had no idea what this means. As I packed arrived at work I read the manual and lunch. To my surprise, it meant that the 9500ix had these places is locked, knowing they were false alarms. How cool is that? Well, they were locked, I could not wait to go back and see what it would do. On my way home, sure enough, no alerts. Only a small ad in the upper right side of the screen shot, it shows that false alarms could see, but no audio alarm was given.

I am the next day the route from work to home was enjoying my new detector when it began to register a Ka-band radar alert. I am not quite sure what the difference is between all the radar bands, but I began to take note and check my speed. I drove nearly a mile asked whether this was a false alarm. Sure enough, as I rounded the corner, there was one of our local police officers sat on the side of the road. I had my first sniff alert, and in plenty of time to check my speed.

As someone who has used several other brands and grew to be false alarms get used let me assure you this is different. Improved sensitivity without the constant beeping. I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to attempt a pass, but I will say that I no longer go without ever again.

If I had to sum up how I feel about the Escort 9500ix in a few words, it would be “This detector is absolutely incredible,” and let her and her five star rating for this. But when I tried to see the price of the detectors and escort and only read “The detector is ….”, it would not sell me, so I’ll expand the post (please pardon that the examples that use the I relate to areas in and around the Twin Cities, but of course they should apply everywhere these situations occur) could

5 stars Why? Kurz. . .
Because they warned me of a couple of speed traps a little less than a mile before I met the squad at 169 between Shakopee and LeSueur. This was of paramount importance, not only because it saved my ticket possible, but it seemed my wife, which is somewhat uncertain, that the expenditure was $ 500 on a “gadget” was to appease a wise expenditure in this economy. . .

Because the Auto-Learn function works absolutely. For example: There are two of those “Your Speed” is stationary speed notification signs on Ayd Mill Road, and after three passes, it beeped and locked both those and a few consistenly wrong signals to Snelling Avenue (GPS recognized symbol spins on the display be collected reassuring that it is running, but not disclosed).

Because it is important with the latest speed and red light cameras across the country (not in MN-Update but from what I by other reviewers of crucial importance in other states that use these methods to have read ticket.)

For it is extremely easy to use, and the blue LED display is very clear. In addition, a feature has the smart radar signal line during the “dark” mode, so you not only hearing the first announcement of a detection limit and are then in the blind, how close the signal source remain.
< , br /> Perhaps most importantly, because it has been named “best in class” in the vast majority if not all read the independent reviews before I shelling out $ 500 on a “gadget”. < br />
If you must use a detector for open highway purposes, you will probably could get a more fuel-efficient model, but if you want an effective, very spacious and GPS-enabled “smart” radar detectors for use in city and highway, I humbly suggest you consider the 9500IX.

The Escort 9500ix is amazing! Quietest detector I have ever driven! I have other top-detectors over the years had, and my biggest complaint was annoying false alarms all the time.

But the 9500ix (with GPS) recalls of all the false alarms my way to work and automatically blocks them. I can also lock out the local bank or 7-Eleven, that my old detector beeps. If the unit goes out, it is actually a police car shooting radar.

The 9500ix comes with a great power cord, that the mute and volume control is directly on the plug in my console. And I love the bright display with blue illumination! You need to register the escort website and Logon Download GPS updates for red light cameras, but no big deal. Again, extremely quiet, high-quality construction. Looks good, too!

I have a lot of research on the Internet before they decide on the Escort 9500ix. I wanted to wait a couple of weeks before to see my positive contribution to operate under different conditions. I live in New York City, and this detector is a must have in Manhattan. I never realized how many red-light cameras are there, and she takes all the equipment. FALSE I have had with the red light camera mode when I saw on the highway, but I think it’s picking GPS signals from the road straight up or down, where I was all over, etc. This saved me RD and already with the ability to lock out WRONG the only way to go. It does what it is programmed to do and does it well.

Have no regrets getting this one over the V1, I was considering. The technology has progressed much further and to review the 9500ix is better.

I think it is a joke ($ 499. 00) that this device is not with everything needed to fully update and / or install it via hard wiring, etc. You will receive an additional hard wire, USB need, and 12V adapter (not go to Radio Shack, which was $ 40, total ripoff. they are out there on the web 2-10 dollars at the most). Not even the suction cup is large, expect to update that.

All small complaints, reports like these have contributed to my decision so if your buying this device, taking into account, buy it! its awesome.
